These two aren't growing on me like Lightning Bolt, where I slowly start to think they're alright because I begin to accept the shitty things about them. They are growing on me more with every listen because I notice more and more beautiful things about each.

This honestly takes me back to a time where PJ released stuff like this all the time and I could just take for granted that the next PJ record was gonna be great no matter what.

I think when people talk about "dark" Pj songs.. Let It Ride is what they're probably talking about, at least thats the case for me.

Cold Confession (session?) definitely sounds more like Recent Ed. I hear Riot Act Ed on LIR though. His Scratchy tone and range just reminds of that time. But hell, if ed can sound like that on LB, I'm down.

It's as though they accidentally broke Pearl Jam part-way through the recording sessions of the S/T album and they're even now still trying to figure out how to put it back together again.
