Easily Karaoke. A great Soundgarden song, a real hidden gem in their collection.

You guys are surprising me. I hope those who think Karaoke is a great song actually vote here, so it can deservedly progress.

Bruce Pavitt once likened grunge to “the sound and look of fresh money,” and truer words were never spoken; the Alternative Nation is full of Foreigners, playing secondhand, sugarcoated grunge-by-numbers. Such Bush-league copycats even inspired Soundgarden to write a song called “Karaoke,” although the tune failed to make it onto Down on the Upside.

“It seemed like there was a real cool, aggressive shake-up in rock, and really quickly they homogenized it and repackaged it,” declares Thayil. “Nirvana came along and they were a really cool thing, and Pearl Jam were really cool, but it just seems like everything now has the edges rounded off. When Pearl Jam ceased making videos, they got all these second-rate, B-grade Pearl Jams to make videos.” In Thayil’s view, “It’s all Top 40 shit and probably won’t exist a year from now. There are only so many teenagers and their limited funds and resources to sustain the careers of all these bands.”

Karaoke is pretty legit, but Obscured has this in the bag for me.

I'm just a regular man
Now I'm a regular mess
Doesn't matter how you dress
Doesn't matter how you fit
I'm gonna show you someday
You can hear it in the air
You can feel it in your bones
You can have it for your own
May not miss you when your gone

Karaoke was produced by Matt Cameron. Found that interesting.

Engineer [Assistent] – Matt Bayles
Producer – Matt Cameron
Producer, Engineer, Mixed By – Adam Kasper
Producer, Mixed By, Written-By – Chris Cornell

I voted Obscured. That information should sway those still on the fence.

I have rediscovered Pisces Iscariot during this tournament and it should have been better represented moving forward. Did every song lose now? If so, that sucks. A lot of these SP B-sides are throwaways, but most of PI is pretty fucking great.
