"Cold Confession" is maybe my favorite Pearl Jam song since "Man of the Hour." If it's really from 2004, it really does indicate what kind of creative path they might have followed had they not consciously chosen to turn "S/T" into a back-to-basics rock record.

I'm going to sincerely hold out hope that these tracks are going to appear on the new album despite when they may have been recorded.

So I was in love with Mind Your Manners... then I heard Lightning Bolt and got a little worried. Then I heard Future Days and felt like Brendan O'Brien was back in full force with his cheez whiz wankery and that the new album was going to be doomed in the same manner Backspacer was.

Then these two surface and I'm shaking my head. What the hell is going on?

I am listening to these two on repeat and trying to listen to Future Days again makes me want to kick a puppy.
