yeah, we're putting way too much credence into live long lyrics when we all know how well Ed remembers his own song lyrics.

he flubbed the first 3-4 lines of the second time they ever played MYM. had that been the first time we ever heard it, we'd be like, "jesus, ed's lost it. now he's just repeating lines by to back."

Absolutely. If anything it's a good speculative conversation to somewhat hold us over.

Maybe the studio lyrics are wrong, and his live flubs are the real ones............has anyone ever researched this.

that's why I tend to not think much about lyrics with live versions, although they can still give you a broad sense of the song.

I would probably think that "self realized" line being used twice in MYM was a flub if I had only heard it live.

It's not used twice in the same chorus, is it? It's just the first line of the chorus.

yeah, but its still odd to me. Is it even a chorus? The repeat is awkward.

Yes, it's a chorus. Listen again with that in mind and you might feel better about it. The MYM part is effectively the end of the verses / pre-chorus.

It is kind of weird how it goes right from the first chorus to the bridge. I guess that's the Backspacer in this song; cut short to its bare essentials. I'm not sure when the world decided a verse 2 wasn't essential.

What has this song got to do with belief in God?
It's right before your eyes.

While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.
