The series premiere is now streaming on HBO Go / HBO Now. Hoping to carve out some time tomorrow to watch it--it's an hour and a half long.

I thought the pilot was good. Nice job of capturing early 70s NYC. Not really sure where the show is headed since I've not read anything about it, but I'll definitely be tuning in again.

i watched both the wire and treme. the pilot on this wasn't bad, but it certainly wasn't great either. it was just there. i did really like the 1971 nyc vibe though; they did a nice job with that. but we shall see.

and maggie gyllenhaal's tits are pretty gross.

Yeah, the pilot was decidedly mediocre.

I liked this; I think it has more legs than Treme did when it comes to being a dynamic, fun-to-follow show. Treme was more of a very slow, brooding reflection (but still beautiful in many ways). I think Show Me A Hero is going to be hard to top, though.
