So being Force Friday and all - can we talk about the toys?

What exactly IS Force Friday?

Marketing. Instead of just releasing the toys to the market, they have a massive push for outlets (media and otherwise) so they can all run stories on the same day. Oh and I believe all of the toys are released to stores at the same time so it's just a massive push to get that small struggling Star Wars brand out there in front of some eyes.

I really enjoy reading this thread and all of your opinions. I just felt that there were a few times where the spoiler tag could be used. I didn't mean any disrespect. And, gosh, I won't bring it up again!

It's just a pisser that we have to cater for a small few and change how we talk. There's a hardcore set of people frequent this thread and we've always talked openly but now we have to use spoilers when in fact we know next to nothing factual just in case some Rm clown gets pissed as he browsed through randomly? Cmon.

Dime, I understand that frustration. But I've been on this RM board, and the ones that preceded it, for at least 14 years. I'm not a random RM clown and while I don't post much to this thread, I visit it everyday.

Huge big push on the toys. It's a pisser for the collectors though. There'll be figures that are exclusive to target and others ones exclusive to walmart etc so you're double fucked if you're not in the US for that stuff but assholes but the stuff in bulk at the midnight openings and it's on eBay minutes later for obscene money.

But stepping back generally it's the opening shot for the marketing of the new film.

I feel like they have done a super great job with the tease for this one. Its fucking killing me but i kind of dig it. We've gotten images, a vague trailer, and vague commentary. Just enough to frustrate me.

My pal opened that link. He said it's the TLJ equivalent of the phantom menace tracklist spoiler.

I'm definitely not opening of it's on that scale.

You guys probably read a leaked script and this tracklist of sorts confirms what you read. Otherwise, it means nothing to a guy like me and the rest of the posters here.

The phantom menace track list released before the film. One of the tracks was 'Qui gons noble end'. So it was a huge spoiler before the film was seen. LFL have strived to avoid that ever since. Toy leaks happen particularly lego it nothing substantial. Seems that someone at Topps has dropped the ball releasing early. that much detail can easily be put together by rabid Star Wars fans. Something as simple as titles can tell you everything.

If we'd got the TFA soundtrack before hand you'd know luke wasn't gonna be til the end. Last track is jedi steps. Just as an example
