As good as Cold Confession is, i just could never picture something so raw actually being released on a modern day Pearl Jam record.

Based on some recend evidence (CC and Speed of Sound demo) maybe the band needs to go all Nebraska on their next album and just forgo all the polish that's been applied to the last 2/3 records.

what ever you want to call it, its exciting stuff to hear from them, and while i wish they would do more, if we at least get this kinda stuff from the past then ill be happy.

has anyone thought that these could be ready for when they eventually get to the avocado rerelease? instead of a lost dogs 2 they will just unload all that stuff to make a rerelease of an album that was just 2 albums ago exciting

I hate to break it to you, but this was still 8 or 9 years ago.

Well, 8-9 years ago is also a period where many people felt PJ were already dying....
These songs prove that PJ could bring this still if they wanted to. They don't. They want to make an accessible pop song now which makes the crowd go 'wild' and which Brendan O'Brien has spit-and-polished. That's what they want to do, and Ed gets pissed off when crowds don't respond well to it.
Its maddening and somewhat insulting.
Yeah. I feel a bit silly that I've done my best to try and appreciate this new stuff as a slightly depleted version of the old stuff. It isn't that at all, it's a whole new redesign.

maybe the PJ camp leaked these out to gauge the response - to see if people were still interested in, oh i don't know, more interesting music. they're going to monitor the internets, and if people seem to dig them, they'll put them on the album.

Really? You're happy for a band still in existence to just release crap as long as they open the vault occasionally? My feeling is that whatever gold is in the vault, this band is doing its very best to shit all over my experience of them, and a few old songs won't make me feel better about it.

Cold Confession has a bit of Inside Job 'pride and shame' in its vocal delivery.

i just want the music, if this stuff is in the vault somewhere, im gonna be excited to hear it, if they cant write like it anymore then ill be happy to get what they put out in the future and probably really like about half of the songs on the albums, but i want to hear all this good stuff that could be just sitting around waiting.

Pretty boring, meandering plodding songs. Like Cropduster or Ghost...latter day PJ songs that are impressive from a technical point of view but don't really go anywhere.

You shut your whore mouth.

Do the 'pj camp' even take notice of this place or do they only pay attention to the pit, cause that would explain alot.

I find it weird they'd be using message board reactions to dictate what to put on thier albums though.
