Re: The Work-Out Thread
as i am sure any of you outside runners will attest to.
the whole key is finding the ability to zone out while running/cardio. i cant remember if i made note but ive gone the preprogrammed route on the elliptical and do the weight loss.
its 4 minute intervals of resistence of 1 and 8 three times then 2 minutes of cooling down. (this is a precorp elliptical)
after 15 minutes my goal is 200 calories burned
every 5th minute is a swig of water
30 minute point stop peddling and let the machine turn off by itself.
rinse and repeat for another 30 minutes
once i get going and get a few good songs playing im 1/3 of the way through the 30 minutes. makes it so much easier to do

Re: The Work-Out Thread
the first 30 minutes of running/biking/cardio inside is easily the worst. After that im fine and can Forest Gump it. But yea - That first 30 minutes I just hate life. So boring.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
6 miles in 41 minutes + shitty vanity workout
The new gym was absolutely packed with people. To keep myself motivated I picked a treadmill between a fast girl doing sub-8s and a guy doing sub-7 speed work. I basically decided to do as many sub-7s as I could. I kinda figured 5 miles would be my max and sure enough, I started struggling at 4 miles. I started to pick up the pace with half a mile left for a finishing kick, but then decided to add another mile. Really struggled, but a decent kick at the end brought me to 6 miles in 41 minutes. Did chest, back, arms and abs afterward, but it was pretty halfhearted as I was wiped. I'll do 10 tomorrow, but keep the pace around 8-minute miles.

Re: The Work-Out Thread
People who dont do yoga (at once - myself) looked down upon it because it wasn't high intensity. After doing it and realizing you are basically doing wall sits and holding your arms up for an hour, along with pushups and situps and weird ass fucking twists....its pretty difficult.

Those people are complete idiots. Shit's fucking hard. The balance and strength that is needed for some of those poses is incredible.Strat wrote:People who dont do yoga (at once - myself) looked down upon it because it wasn't high intensity. 10 miles in 77 minutes
My legs were pretty shot after yesterday's run and yoga session, but it was an insanely beautiful day and I just couldn't resist. After only a 9-hour day at work, I hit the canals and just enjoyed myself. Much to my surprise my legs seemed to respond and after I hit the turnaround in 40 minutes, I decided to pick things up a little. Made it home in 77 minutes after a decent quarter-mile finishing kick. 3-minute negative split.
This is 3 days in a row of running for me. Consider the streak started!
