NBA 2k18 finally fixed the sluggish animations of the past few years. Sublime.

I beat the Eagles in Madden 18.

55 yard pass for a TD with about 30 seconds left in the game.

Final: 14-13. Go Chiefs!

You are probably better at time management than Reid.

I should have been leading for the entire game. Alex was on point. But the wide outs couldn't hold on to anything.

Shouldn't have waived Maclin.

I can't wait. I hope I have Horizon wrapped up by then.

I can't wait for Horizon's DLC and to jump back into the world too. How far along are you? Isn't the world building and lore awesome?

I'm level 32, I think.

Nice, have you fought any the worm robots? They are pretty wild.

Yup. I haven't cleared the corruption zone that has 2.

That was probably the hardest fight of the game for me. I went about it the wrong way though.

I've been enjoying Sonic Mania, but I've gotten stuck on the Oil Ocean Act 2 boss in both my Sonic and Knuckles files. I guess I've just got to take it slower and not get flustered with it.

I've heard that it's easier with Tails alone and as Sonic and Tails together.

Is it worth the download? I was never a huge fan of the originals but I'm intrigued.

I suppose that depends on what you didn't like about the originals. This plays quite faithfully in terms of accurate momentum physics, and how it handles platforming and hazards. Most of the levels are remixes of ones from the original Genesis games and a couple from Sonic CD, albeit quite extensively reworked.

Those games are some of my all time favorites, so this one is right up my alley.

I have two beefs with the Genesis games:
1. It was compared to Mario. It is not even in the same league as Mario as far as I'm concerned in terms of level design and platforming precision. Kind of an unfair criticism I know.
2. It's all about speed! That is, until you slow down and then it becomes frustrating.

I will check it out when it goes on sale.

I won't dissuade from checking it out; more sales means a higher likelihood that Sega will sanction another game of this ilk.

As to your points: Of course it's compared to Mario. The games were created to specifically be the anti-Mario. I love Mario quite a lot myself, so really, as you point out, this bit is pure subjectivity.

As for your second point, that's one that gets tossed around a lot by people who haven't played the original games much, or were never very good at them. The marketing would have you believe that speed is the primary drive of the game, but it's really a reward you get for being able to understand how the momentum system works and how to use it to navigate the levels and avoid hazards. You can run around at top speed as a novice, but unless you're extremely lucky, the game will punish you for it. I'm an average player, at best, so I tend to abuse the speed a bit myself at times, until I get sick of getting hit, and then I revert back to allowing the physics to guide my approach.

Anyway, finally beat that damn boss as Sonic, so onwards!

My stores aren't updated yet. I plan to peruse Toys R Us, Best Buy, and/or Target at lunchtime on Friday. I think I should be able to get one.
