I guess it's more of an enthusiastic agreement...durdencommatyler wrote:Which thread?PHATJ wrote:I just said something nice to you in another thread, Joey.

I'm surprised at the SP complaining in all these threads, Even when their songs are winning the poll. Should almost think this was a SP board, not a Pearl Jam one.

SP fans are super passionate. I love that about them.
I had a great friend who was so inspired and affected by SP's music. He was a musician, too. And everything about his approach to songwriting and performing changed when he found Smashing Pumpkins. It was beautiful to watch him transform into a real force on stage and learn to let go. I was always jealous that he got to have that kind of reaction and kinship to their music. Outside of a handful of songs, their stuff has always just been lost on me.

I mean, most of their songs are getting destroyed in these matches (and often by much weaker songs). It's weird to be surprised.Anders wrote:I'm surprised at the SP complaining in all these threads, Even when their songs are winning the poll. He can't be helped - he thinks Superunknown is the best rock album of the '90s.chewm wrote:I mean, most of their songs are getting destroyed in these matches (and often by much weaker songs). I like that SP has its little group of vocal cheerleaders. It makes the embarrassment of losing to these second-rate songs a bit more palatable.

I can't imagine caring enough about this innocuous, silly, little tournament to feel anything approaching embarrassment.
