This idea that Stone has been consciously put in a cage by Ed. I don't know, guys. And if he has, this is the guy who has put down Vitalogy and No Code.

Where does the idea that the only person with a say, or who is behind this direction is Ed come from? I always thought things like the band convincing him to put Gone on self titled or Matt asking to include Setting Forth on setlists (first two examples that come to mind) painted a pretty good picture of everyone being on the same page.

Where does the idea that the only person with a say, or who is behind this direction is Ed come from? I always thought things like the band convincing him to put Gone on self titled or Matt asking to include Setting Forth on setlists (first two examples that come to mind) painted a pretty good picture of everyone being on the same page.

The basic trajectory seems to be that Ed kind of took the reigns with Vitalogy and No Code, it steered back into more of a band-focused effort on Yield through Riot Act, and that Eddie became 'the guy' again (although maybe not to the extent he was before) ever since on S/T and Backspacer.

This is probably grossly over simplified and possibly meaningless.
