Re: Mind Your Manners
one of my friends who was once a big fan but gradually started to lose interest thought mind your manners was great. Not being exceptionally familiar with much of the later catalog he immediately went to spin the black circle.

So what you're saying is that it's a return to form?!stip wrote:one of my friends who was once a big fan but gradually started to lose interest thought mind your manners was great. Not being exceptionally familiar with much of the later catalog he immediately went to spin the black circle.

Re: Mind Your Manners
I can actually understand the association with STBC. It's not so much the music, but Ed's vocals.

I'm hoping for a logical extension of backspacer.

I think I found the reason MYM sounded so different on the radio. In iTunes at least there is a usually shitty option to enhance the audio. I flipped that on and the guitars and drums boosted big time. I don't know if it a compression tool
Or if its boosting stereo channels but ii think it helps this track out alot. The vocals and leads diminish but it gives the guitars a more aggressive sound.

Oh right. I thought you were being negative. Yeah, my wife likes this song too, and she's waiting to hear the studio versions of the others before having an opinion.bodysnatcher wrote:yes, but my wife is a hard lady to please. ask my dong.harmless wrote:It says that your wife likes this song.bodysnatcher wrote:my wife really likes this song. that says a lot.

Re: Mind Your Manners
Initially I thought I really liked it, but it may have just been the "newness" because I haven't really gone out of my way to listen to it since it came out. Aside from the 5-10 times I heard it that first weekend, I don't think I've listened since.. I actually forget how a lot of it goes.

Be cool if the song went straight into the vocal instead of the 20 second intro. It doesn't really have relation to the rest of the song. It's a bit misleading. Keep wishing the song was in that timing than the one it's in.

Same here. It would have been a cool part to reintroduce in the center of the song an have it knock it off kilter leading into a solo or something.dimejinky99 wrote:Be cool if the song went straight into the vocal instead of the 20 second intro. Yeah definitely. And that different time sig at the start feels far more pearl jam to me, if that makes sense?Thejambi wrote:Same here. Re: Mind Your Manners
I've had the opposite feeling. I liked it, but didn't love it at first, when I played it 50 times or whatever over two days. Since then I probably put it one once or twice a day, and as the song has become more and more familiar and comfortable I find I like it more. It's not a 5 star song, but I am pretty confident it is 4.Tass Man wrote:Initially I thought I really liked it, but it may have just been the "newness" because I haven't really gone out of my way to listen to it since it came out. KROQ in LA is not playing this song at all. I find that confusing considering they were all over the last couple singles and this one seems more up their alley.
I have to assume there is some reason for them completely shunning it. Looks like not one spin over the past week
