All The Way was edited. IIRC, there was a Cubs announcer in the middle of the song that corresponded to the footage on the video screen. That was removed. That edit was probably for the best.

Re: Let's Play Two: Live from Wrigley Field
Also, I watched the movie, LET'S PLAY TWO. It was fun. But it's not what I wanted.
However, the lowest form of criticism is talking about shit you wanted it to be, rather than judging it on what it is.
I wanted it to be Immagine in Cornice 2: Chicago Style. Instead it was 10% Pearl Jam, 50% Eddie Vedder and 40% Chicago Cubs. My favorite parts, however small, were the 10% Pearl Jam. Them on the roof at Murphy's, interviews with Jeff and Mike, backstage type shit - that's what I really want to see. The rest of it was wow how great the Cubs are and Edward Vedder really loves the Cubs. That's fine, but not what I wanted.
The music parts sounded really good, however, the selections were very obvious - Elderly Woman, Black, Alive, Jeremy, Given to Fly, Corduroy.
My favorite parts were Low Light and Release - both sounded fantastic and Ed was in top 2016 form.
So, not sure what to say. It was fine. Fun to watch, but I didn't care much for the Cubs stuff and the songs chosen were on the nose. But overall, it was a lot of fun to see at the Metro.
EXCEPT, right in front of me were the absolute worst PEARL JAM FANS YOU KNOW. Two total fucking meathead motherfuckers, straight from Gold's Gym one-day membership cuz they happen to be in town. Talking the entire fucking time, ruining it for everyone, standing up and drunkenly singing along to Elderly Woman (pretty sure I hate that song now). Everyone else was actually super cool - and whaddya know many females were there - but these douchebags made me rethink what the fuck I'm doing with my life. If I like Pearl Jam... and these dipshits like Pearl Jam... something has gone wrong.

So they sold the DVD and later put the Blu on sale? And peeps still don’t think they are engaging in sneaky marketing/sales practices?

Why on Earth did Jeff and Stone sign off on this thoroughly weird project?evenslow wrote: I wanted it to be Immagine in Cornice 2: Chicago Style. Instead it was 10% Pearl Jam, 50% Eddie Vedder and 40% Chicago Cubs.

Agreed. Actually, from what this sounds like, a more interesting approach would have been for Ed to have filmed this along with what I'm sure is decades worth of other footage he has on 8mm. He could throw in some performance footage, interviews, etc. Maybe that would have been a better 30 for 30 on ESPN instead of a full film, but I would have actually been more interested in something like that then something billed as Pearl Jam.Birds in Hell wrote:Why on Earth did Jeff and Stone sign off on this thoroughly weird project?evenslow wrote: I wanted it to be Immagine in Cornice 2: Chicago Style. All of that said, I'm seeing it next Tuesday so we'll see how I feel then.

Re: Let's Play Two: Live from Wrigley Field
They played part of Thumbing My Way on the rooftop and started jamming a Steely Dan song, which was actually one of the lone moments from Stone. There are a few shots of the crowd below throughout.
The other part I forgot to tell you all about was this really cool extended footage of Ed from 1992 doing a tour of Wrigleyville. It's him and a friend walking around the neighborhood - pretty sure they were in town for a Metro gig.
Stuff like that is really cool, but then they seem to shoehorn in the 2016 Cubs season. Like I said, for my personal taste, I wanted to see Pearl Jam Takes Wrigleyville, with Ed's personal Chicago background and affinity thrown in
I should also say that, like any Clinch project, it's filmed beautifully and sounds fantastic.

They interview a dude who got first in line by waiting 4 days(!!!). He was at the Metro last night. Seemed like a nice bloke, as they say.Strat wrote:They posted a clip on facebook and it was just video of all the pearl jam fans talking abotu waiting in line, how many shows they saw, and showing off their tattoo's :\

That's a long time to wait. Even in his best years - strat wouldn't wait 4 days.
