What mega tournament would you like to see next?

Waits has always been mysterious and interesting to me, I just have never jumped in.

No time like the present, sir.
Getting to know more material is definitely part of the fun. But I'd have to get to know almost all of the material, and that's a bit daunting.
Eh, it ain't about winning, its about participating! Find some songs, go for it, and enjoy the ride.
I get that. I just don't always have the time to listen to a dozen or more new songs every day. That's all. I definitely will participate the best I can though.
Yea, i get this. Its super overwhelming and I am guilty of not participating in some things due to this.

he is also an aquired taste. there's an internal logic to him, and it needs to click

I saw a live performance of his on MTV or vh1 many many years ago and I thought it was kind of amazing. I wish I knew what that performance was.

Exactly. I've actually avoided a few artists because of this. R.E.M. was one until I finally went for it a few years ago and really delved into the entire catalog. I really loved doing that. I found a ton of material that I had never heard that I really enjoyed. Stip might remember that. I kinda leaned on him for guidance early and then found my way through pretty much everything. But it took commitment and a lot of time.

R.E.M. already happened and I found out the board has terrible taste in them.

I voted Lanegan but he also has way too many weird collaborations that I haven't listened to or don't care about.

Voted U2 because Mark Lanegan is the most overrated anything ever on rm... except maybe pj harvey. Saw Tom waits once and thought he was creepy and his bit was stupid. Love him in Deadman though... or is it Cigarettes & Coffee? or is it Coffee & Cigarettes? Whatever... it doesn't matter.

U2 would be great. I might even get a buddy of mine to join if we go that route. He's a lifelong U2 fan and my concert buddy of 17 years.

Mark Fucking Lanegan

U2 blows for the most part (Joshua Tree and Achtung Baby don't suck though), Tom Waits is interesting but he's not someone I listen to regularly at all.
