Yeah I can hear that - I wonder if that was the reason for leaving it off?
Something was booted for Gone.
Yes, you're right. :shake:
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Overall the song is more All or None to me than anything else. And that is a good thing.
I also hear the connection. It's a much more appropriate use of all the vocal mannerisms he used in Inside Job.

I seem to remember RM having a pretty big hard-on for Force of Nature.

It's fair to say that this song is a prime candidate for an album closer. Maybe Ed just conceded on this one and let Mike have his Inside Job.

it's a pretty down song, and I bet they wanted S/T to end on an optimistic note.

i wonder where that little ditty boom starts playing at the end would have gone if the song didn't fade out.

True. Inside Job does have a certain cheesy optimism to it.

I really like this kind of Pearl Jam track... a bit sombre, moody, loose song structure.

Slow songs since Vitalogy

Long Road
Sometimes
Off He Goes
Present Tense
I'm Open
Around the Bend
Wishlist
Lowlight
Thin Air
Of the Girl
Sleight of Hand
Parting Ways
Thumbing My Way
All or None
Man of the Hour
Parachutes
Come Back
Just Breathe
The End

What did I miss? It's too early to tell for sure, but this definitely ranks towards the top of that list.

I like CC but I'd still take more than half of those over it

I'm hoping this was a PR move and let it "leak" to see if people would like these songs. Maybe they'll see this reaction and put it on the new album, though they probably re-recorded it. Maybe they haven't nailed down the tracklist and have 15 or so songs in the running for 12 spots...Man I'm hoping this therory is right....

but I know I'm dead wrong, one can dream.

lyrics yet?

I honestly don't think PJ had anything to do with this.

I really wish I was hearing what other people are. I hear a (slightly) glorified jam. The song has no dynamics or musical changes, and Eddie sounds like he was huffing dust beforehand. Also, I mentioned this elsewhere, but I don't even think Matt is drumming on this.

It's got a good dark vibe, but it's not a song. I don't think anything on S/T is better than this, and that album is pretty not-so-good.

Boy. To each there own and all that but this song is top tier. It's rich, natural, honest and enticing. It's not trying to over do itself and that's what I love about it.

Yeah, I don't want to take anything away from people liking it, but I can't name another PJ song that doesn't have a chorus or bridge or another part that gives the song movement. This just feels like a compelling sketch, to me. And I really do think the singing is substandard.

You're right.......they really should have decided they had to write a chorus no matter what. (Please see my signature)
