I never saw him live, I never had the chance. He toured Australia in 86 with Dylan and hadn't been back since. The year after I left London he played there. He was top of my wish list.

This will take a while to sink in, folks.

Eddie Vedder is telling a story to the crowd about a time he was hanging out with Tom Petty and a group of people, and Eddie walks in to the room with one of his old, vintage suitcases he always carries around with him on tour. While doing an impression in Tom Petty's voice, he tells the crowd that Petty said to the group of people they were both hanging out with at the time, "Oh, hey, look....Eddie's gonna do his ventriloquist act for us."
