Dear PJ people, please open the vaults

Post by Cleverman »

PJ people, if you are monitoring this board (and it kinda seems like you are), you have to be aware of the response to the leaked songs.

My plea to you is this - open the vaults. Any finished demo or b-side that is just hanging there needs to see the light of day. We are here because we love this band and based on things like EV cups, you know we'll (some of us) buy anything you throw at us.

Release those songs, please.

Do it at $1.29 each or put them out in three song EPs once a month or ya know, anything.

Pretty please?
Satisfaction is the death of desire.

I second this. Last b side to come out was 10 years ago in the riot act period. lets get real here and do something with it all.

Petition? Eddie loves democracy and direct action.

for a band who really seem to love making money, this would be an enormous cash cow for them.

and as a fan, much easier to take than selling fucking coffee cups and dog collars.

It will be rather disappointing if the subsequent reissues have just 2-3 alt versions or the like. How about a complete disc/vinyl of outtakes.

It really baffles me that there is enough material to make a "Lost Cats", per se, and Pearl Jam doesn't release it. When I heard the demos from PJ20 I figure that maybe they really didn't have anything in the vault.

Some of you might disagree but PJ could have started off with "Of the Earth", "Olé", "Cold Confession", "Let it Ride" and still had something like 21 other songs to ass to a double album ala Lost Dogs. Could many of these songs just use a mastering? If they're like the two leaks, it's likely.

That being said, almost every major band has a double album, I was really hoping Lighting Bolt would be it. :(

I don't think this is true. Especially in the CD era. Besides, a whole lot of "classic" double albums are single CDs (London Calling, Exile On Main Street, Tusk, Rattle & Hum, etc.).

What major bands that started in the CD era have double albums besides The Smashing Pumpkins?

Didn't RHCP release a double a wee while back?

Yeah, Stadium Arcadium. But it was too thinly spread, they could have easily made a much stronger single album with the best tracks. I guess it was their 'experimental' album.
