The sequel is pretty solid, too, although I've yet to finish it completely

It is. I think it didn't quite reach its potential, but it is very solid.Revelator wrote:The sequel is pretty solid, too, although I've yet to finish it completely

Played a few rounds of the Battlefront 2 beta. The different classes will definitely add more strategy and variety to the gameplay. The ship battles are much improved too. Looking forward to the full game.

No, other than it randomly switching brightness levels during the menus. Game looks and feels great. I'm really excited to play some prequel content.tragabigzanda wrote:Heard reports that something about the visuals of weird or off; did you experience this?Monkey_Driven wrote:Played a few rounds of the Battlefront 2 beta. I finished downloading it yesterday and I didn't have a chance to play it for too long but the prologue was awesome. I'm hooked.

A couple times it dumped us into games we hadn't even selected, and there were a couple spots where you'd get caught up in weird spots like half inside a ship. But other than that pretty seamless.
and it was a lot of fun with the classes and such. The "crates" element was fun, although I hope there is a lot of variety. Not sure I like the battle points options for heroes though. Finally got enough one round to use one and they were both taken. We'll see how that works out I guess.

Re: The all inclusive video game thread
The battle points concept sounds like the obvious fix to the vehicle spawn problems in Battlefield 1 (limited vehicles, and it's just the luck of the draw whether or not one is available when you are looking at the spawn map). I love the concept, I hope the execution plays out well.@SkitchP wrote:Monkey_Driven wrote:No, other than it randomly switching brightness levels during the menus. Game looks and feels great. It's a tricky balance to keep things from getting to one sided. I sort of like the ratio of skill/luck to unlock them.tragabigzanda wrote:The battle points concept sounds like the obvious fix to the vehicle spawn problems in Battlefield 1 (limited vehicles, and it's just the luck of the draw whether or not one is available when you are looking at the spawn map). Looks like they extended the beta to Wednesday. Hope to play more tonight. The Maz hideout map is great.

I'm enjoying it so far as well. I never had much fun with the MGS series before but my opinion of stealth games has turned a total 180 in the last few years, so I think I'll dig it.jwfocker wrote:tragabigzanda wrote:Yeah, I'm excited to dive in while the wife is out of town next week.jwfocker wrote:Metal Gear Solid V Phantom Pain is free for PS Plus folks.

First impressions after haphazardly gunning my way through a few sections: it's cool and hard and I really suck at it.

Did the same thing. First mission I was able to rescue Miller but stealth went out the window super early and I had to gun down everyone. Lost a lot of mission points.

Most of the missions I ran in in MSG V started in pure stealth but ended in all out gunfights.
