Re: NHL Thread
That's a weird thing to remember considering they won 2 of their first 9 and averaged less than 3 goals per game in that stretch.Mecca wrote:i remember their hot start last year, toophilpritchard wrote:This Leafs team is gonna score a lot of goals.

Re: NHL Thread
we start tonight. don't think we can win and am kind of expecting a rough start to the season. we'll still go further than any of your teams but yeah, could be a rough start.

It'll probably be rough going as long as Karlsson's out. They don't exactly have a stellar defense right now.

Re: NHL Thread
we actually have an extremely deep defence core. the trouble is upfront. of course, karlsson is a big loss.philpritchard wrote:It'll probably be rough going as long as Karlsson's out. They don't exactly have a stellar defense right now.

Re: NHL Thread
With Karlsson out of the lineup, ALL of Oduya, Wideman, and Borowiecki will get significant ice-time. That's bad, and none of Phaneuf, Claesson, or Ceci is well-suited to take on tough minutes against top competition.Dev wrote:we actually have an extremely deep defence core. the trouble is upfront. of course, karlsson is a big loss.philpritchard wrote:It'll probably be rough going as long as Karlsson's out. sigh why didnt phaneuf waive the no-trade clause? he would not have been selected.philpritchard wrote:With Karlsson out of the lineup, ALL of Oduya, Wideman, and Borowiecki will get significant ice-time. It would have made them much better by keeping Methot, that's for sure.Dev wrote:sigh why didnt phaneuf waive the no-trade clause? he would not have been selected.philpritchard wrote:With Karlsson out of the lineup, ALL of Oduya, Wideman, and Borowiecki will get significant ice-time. I'm not 100% convinced he wouldn't have been picked, though. It's still kind of hard to tell what Vegas is doing, but if they're really focused on building for the future it would have been smart to take him and then retain some salary to get a decent return in a trade.

I fully expect the Canucks to suck this year, but if their style of play is like last night all season, they'll at least lose in an entertaining, fun to watch fashion

I'd just like to make it clear that the Maple Leafs are the official redneck team in all of Canada.
