2015/2016: OMFG! Star Wars, move on! Stop living in the past and rehashing nostalgia!

2017: OMFG! This doesn't look enough like Star Wars! Why are you making something entirely new?

Nobody here's saying that. Are they?
There's definitely something slightly different and more visceral than ever before going on. And that's a brilliant thing.

Seems weird that he'd be talking to himself out loud like that though, no? Well, maybe not. He did have that little chat with Vader's helmet in TFA. So maybe...

This is almost as ridiculous as them saying that Mark Hamill could be up for an Oscar for his performance

That's a bit harsh. He could well be. Bob iger doesn't say stuff like that lightly. And Disney has bigger clout at the oscars than most.

Did you know they pushed frank oz for his performance of Yoda for nomination? Academy wouldn't have it. And still today doesn't recognise puppeteers(one of the oldest forms of acting) or its modern mo cap equivalent.

I adore Adam Driver. If they're giving him a monologue, he'll make the most of it for sure.

I'm exaggerating for comic effect, but I saw some grumbling.

Kylo Ren's little band-aid is interesting. I wonder how much of the movie we can piece together based on when he has it in the trailer and when he doesn't. Stands to reason that the stuff where he does have it is probably closer to the beginning of the film, right? Since this picks up right after TFA, I think that makes some sense. And then when he's without it, we're further into the story.
