I was listening to Breakerfall yesterday, thinking that it would be really nice if Ed would double up on the vocal like he did there on some new songs. Like, on Lightning Bolt, a low baritone spoken chorus underneath the screamed one would sound great, and make the song instantly cooler.
X2

One deep "mind your manners" wouldn't of hurt either
True.
Yeah that'd be pretty good.

I've listened to this a few more times and I'd say the initial excitement of these songs has clouded our judgement of the true quality of the song writing. I really like what they're trying to do with CC, but really there's not much melody to carry the song.

Is it better than the 2nd half of S/T? Perhaps.
Is it a 4+ star song that can hold a candle to Nothingman, Present Tense or Immortality? No chance.

I seem to remember RM having a pretty big hard-on for Force of Nature.
Yeah, but that ended real quick.
As this should.

I can only hope that if this song makes it to the new album with O'Brien's fixin' on it, this drum groove is maintained. It won't be though, as Matt will oversimplify everything. Now I realise that this is what happened when Puzzles and Games became Light Years (although I still really like that song, so...).

I read somewhere Light years was reworked from puzzles and games after Eds go to hairdresser guy, died of HIV.

Made a song I love anyways, even more resonant for all sorts of reasons.

Good of him to immortalise the guy like that.

Sounds like he was also stopping off to play with the toys in the kids' corner of the doctors surgery.

:?

I don't know, I'll have to check while I'm there next and report back. But there are some toys out there with mini mallets. And it does have a xylophone. Those beaters can be hammers if you have a good arm on ye.
