punk rock is a word used by dilettantes and, uh... and, uh... heartless manipulators, about music...

Jesus, I'm catching shrapnel here. Yeah, I like DIY garage noise (among other things), but more often than not if you play/listen to that kind of music you share a similar outlook on the shittiness/worthlessness of the big industry machine. As important ethics are in the art you craft, its secondary to the need to create and express yourself. I gravitate more towards that I guess, the people to actually have to make something in order to stay sane this fucked up world.Dev wrote:it matters to scenesters like Trag and SNC who listen exclusively to shitty semi-coherent DIY garage noise where the bands' musical abilities are secondary to whether they ascribe to the correct industry ethics.washing machine wrote:I don't see how that's relevant.Dev wrote:i am the only real punk in this thread.
For me at least, it's always the music first. If I like it and its genuine and it speaks to me than I'm on board. It's pretty simple. I've never been all that impressed by ability.
Down might be TJLs finest moment.

Well, didn't mean anything by it. Can't even remember doing that. What band, now I'm curious.

I wish I liked this band more. If I'm in a Yow mood, you better believe I'm gonna reach for Scratch Acid instead.

Goat, Liar & Bang are legend. If you don't like those albums, you're a pussy.
