You can keep your Jedi and your Sith and all your whatnots. We're fucking out of here. We'll send you a post card from the unknown regions. PEACE."

I'd love to see them team up.
As lame as it may sound, whatever happens, I really just want Luke to go out on a solid note. I want my childhood Hero to leave the galaxy in good hands. I want what he has already accomplished, and what he has learned to reverberate as he passes on. If that means what you said above, i think that'd be amazing. If his goal now is to kill off this idea of what the jedi and sith were....as it has only caused chaos and destruction...then maybe the end game is Reylo peacing out and removing themselves from the equation.

But i dont want him going out like a punk. Unsure of himself (hamilself?), what he's accomplished, and to just die by the hands of a mad man or mad woman.

I wouldn't be surprised if this ends with some variation of Rey and Kylo together and Ep 9 will be Luke realizing that he's the only one who can rescue/save/destroy them.

Ultimately, I agree with you. I like seeing Luke broken and hurt and unsure and afraid. But I don't want him to end there. I think he has to overcome and end in a place of strength, as a hero.

Especially if there is a chance the assumed hero of this story (a woman) ends up going to the dark side. Along with a trump presidency? I couldnt handle all of this.

I need to feel safe and comfortable come story conclusion. Luke struggling now is a great angle. Im excited.

With JJ at the helm for Ep 9, I can assure you, you're getting a happy ending.

Wait, what?

It's jj. It'll be a weird ambiguous ending at best. If not full on cliff hanger.

And they seem to be inverting the heros journey / established Star Wars method. Luke will have to sacrifice himself for a true ending to be achieved.

He looks better than I thought he would. But moving, walking, etc..... it will be interesting to see how that looks, equally important.

Tragic ending happy ending. I'm good with either.

I do know theyre gonna leave the door open a crack for another trilogy.

Problem is can JJ handle that subtlety or will he just do his usual mystery box thing?

I reckon that would backfire on the franchise in a big way. We just had that. This needs a satisfying conclusion with a tiny tantalising possibility of more. That's all.

Tarkin moved and walked and barely changed facial expressions past frustration and the internet lost its mind.

That's a cg rendered face and in one shot is entirely credible and realistic.

I still think he'd be a heck of a lot scarier if they found some super old actor to play him on screen.

But yes in that one shot it's very credible and realistic.

Alright, I watched it again today. I'm excited. So many questions.

One thing though: DON'T FUCKING KILL POE!

He better find an awesomely heroic way out of that exploding ship. Probably with Leia in his arms.

I think they're setting up Poe to basically take over for Leia and run the resistance. Poe lives.
