I was also confused. I think if the batter leaves the box and isn't running to first, he's just called out

I originally thought Baker had decided to pitch Roark instead of Strasburg not that He had asked out of the start because he felt bad.

He was great yesterday, I probably have a false opinion of him from early in his career, I obviously didn't have the confidence that he could do what he did yesterday.
