Listening to this again. Hang on Me is ripping me apart this time. It's really digging in. This fucking song is brilliant. It has improved with each listen. I think it'll end up being a St. Vincemt mainstay for me. I imagine it on a tone of mixes/playlists in the future.

Pills... when that song breaks down and shifts into a Pink Floyd song at the end... :heartbeat: :heartbeat: :heartbeat:

That's such a great little piece of this record.

Is the main melody of Los Ageless in Sugarboy? It seems like I hear the lead playing guitar playing a faster version of that melody. Maybe I'm nuts.

So awesome. I love how connected this record is. I feel like there's gonna be so much to unpack on repeat listens.

The chorus to Los Ageless still just slays me. I get chills every time.

Happy Birthday, Johnny sounds like it could be a Tom Waits cover. And that's a big compliment, by the way.

Savior is so fucking good. It's so poppy and funky and catchy. It has so much going on. Totally my favorite on the record right now. It begs me to listen the way the Bring Me Your Loves did when I first heard it. Totally different songs, but both have me itching big time.

Love the "nun's habit/hail mary.... pass cuz you know I'll catch it" bit.

This song reminds me of How to Destroy Angels. Not in a rip-off way, but a good way.

I'm not familiar. But if they sound anything like Hang on Me, then I need to get acquainted yesterday!

It's a paradox for sure. I'm not sure there's anyway to resolve this.

After sitting with this for a few days, I love it. Highlights are Happy Birthday, Johnny, Los Ageless, New York and especially Fear the Future, which left me cold the first time or two through the record.
