Forget about it, folks.
Except it was more likely to appear on Vs.
im responding to stips comment about it fitting on No Code.

And since it didnt appear on VS, it had just as much luck being revisited for vitalogy, no code, etc....

It would have been great on No Code.
I haven't thought about that before.

Id retrack No Code to include HTI instead of Im Open. Wish we had a jack irons version.

He could have given it some extra warmth. I think it would have done really well on No Code.

I love the idea of Hard to Imagine on No Code. I think the first time I heard the song was on the Chicago Cab soundtrack. I don't know if the version on that soundtrack was recorded during the No Code sessions but I always think of the song -- and that version specifically -- as a No Code outtake/b-side. To me it'll always be a No Code era track, even though I know they recorded a least one version earlier than that.

*Actually heard the Boston Orpheum version first on bootlegs but first studio recording wa Chicago Cab.

That was a Dave A. version though.

How many different studio versions have been officially released? Just those two or is there a third one as well?

I just listened to all four twice each. I think there are a lot of similarities, even to the point where there is difficulty in seeing any difference in length or in the guitar work. Almost difficult to hear that it's from two sessions, but Ed does seem to be a bit more assertive the later version if I'm hearing it right. Would say Lost Dogs/Vs. and Chicago Cab/Vitalogy seems to be right.

I saw this thread pop up again and it excites me. This album, to me, has so much character. It’s unevenness (if that is a word) lends itself even more to the quality in here. Favorite album not just of theirs but from any band. I feel like I find something new in this album to appreciate every time, juxtaposed with it being the Pearl Jam I’m most comfortable with.
