Re: The Wire
I think watching the series a second time gave me a new appreciation for both season 1 and 4. My first time through, season 3 was hands down my favorite. After 2 viewings, I caught so much more in season 1, and how things were planted in that season but later revisited in season 3. Season 4 was so different, and I was resistent to the change the first time watching it. The next time around, I knew what to expect, and also picked up on a lot more foreshadows and plot points. I really liked how they barely showed the main character in season 4. The show was just as strong, if not stronger by focusing on a whole new group of people.cutuphalfdead wrote:Finished season 4 last night. Re: The Wire
The part that I really enjoyed upon multiple rewatchings was how differently I viewed the characters. First time through is all McNulty, Omar and Stringer. I HATED snoop and Cutty the first time through. I also thought Carver was meh.
and now one of my favorite parts of the series is the growth of Carver. I started to enjoy snoop, the Cutty story became one of my favorites, and Colvin is an absolute revelation.

Yes! The growth of Carver is absolutely one of the best things about this show. I feel the same about Cutty too...first time around, meh. Second time, I really liked his story. I despised Snoop and Marlo the first time, second time, I liked them (in a I hate them, but like them kind of way). The growth of Michael (the young pup with big paws), was really interesting as well.@SkitchP wrote:The part that I really enjoyed upon multiple rewatchings was how differently I viewed the characters. Bunny was one of my favorites from the get go. After the 2nd viewing, I noticed he was actually in Season 2. I didn't notice that the first time.

Yes! it was pretty awesome. That's a show I'm really starting to enjoy on a similar level to King of the Hill.Farmer John wrote:Did anyone catch Bubbles' appearance on Bob's Burgers last Sunday?
