GOD I HATE THIS SONG

How can they open with this song. It would kill the set from the beginning. It is so boring and plodding hitting the same chords slowly over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over

It is so. dang. Boring.

Just listening to a boot and heard it and cant believe THEY OPEN SHOWS WITH IT

It is actually a pretty popular opener, among the Jamily anyway.

I used to feel kind of the same.

The song's grown on me a bit over the years, but still.

Few PJ-related things are as suspect to me as worries over particular songs "killing the energy" of a live set.

Song placement is more likely to drain the crowd than song selection.

That b word that sat next to me at Wrigley 1 last year made that statement. She didn’t leave though.

The Touring Band performance is great. It's a five star performance of a very strong four star song.

Ive seen the band 5.5 times (Global Citizen Festival barely counts) and I've been lucky enough to never hear this one. I always think it kills the show before it starts. With that plus seeing Present Tense 3 times I feel incredibly blessed

Easily my second favourite opener after Of The Girl, and I've been lucky enough to hear it live quite a few times:

London 2007
Manchester 2009
Berlin 2010
Amsterdam 2018
Barcelona 2018

It's a perfect opener because it sets the stage for the live show... we're on a journey with the band.

That one chord is powerful!
