can i bring something up? few years back a famous british entertainer, after he died, had thousands of really fucked up allegations made about him..he was even a knight.. thousands of allegations were made and people could apply for compensation n allthat..

there is a real element of people bandwagoning either for personal profit, attention, or in a the hollywood case, just to raise their profile.


im not victim shaming or undermining anyone but it is a real factor that there are assholes that take advantage of this stuff, especially as this wave of rape culture/celebraing being a victim thing seems to be the flavour of the month.

I've thought about how difficult it is to defend yourself against allegations of this nature. Someone said you did something at a party 30 years ago, and then everyone turns on you. With that said, it is not difficult to believe Rapp's story, especially after what Spacey wrote, which really was a terribly worded apology.

It really makes you think. Does your exwife still hate you? One of your coworkers who wants your job? Someone who regrets hooking up with you after a party? Someone who just doesn’t correctly remember what happened 20-30 years ago? How could you tell a false claim from someone who feels legitimately empowered to speak out after years of silence?
