Its amazing how many years this idea has been put out there. Its baffling they haven't done something like this.LetMeSleep wrote: Oh wouldn't it be great if they committed to this direction for an album. And did small intimate shows.

This so much! I'm all for small venues, but my god, I was mighty pissed when there was no way of getting into Astoria, London 2006 for their first euro show in what at that time felt like forever.stip wrote:probably because of how many people would be excluded from it.

People get excluded from bigger shows too, less people but still, you can't please everyone. They could play one big show and one small show in each city if they wanted.

I don't know, I don't think they'd have to do it permanently.
It's kind of interesting that this band, which really seems to value the intimate experiences of club shows, doesn't really want to tour anywhere other than an arena or festival. It certainly would have made touring places like the South easier for the past ten years if they were just willing to hit smaller venues. That being said, I doubt it's an active decision on the part of the band, and more just that they get the schedule set for them and don't care about it enough to raise the issue.

Re: new (old) song: Cold Confession
I think its a copout excuse because I don't think that's what is really preventing them from doing something like this. They may use that as their excuse - but, frankly people get bumped from just about any show and will complain about anything. If they had the impetus, they could make a mini "intimate" tour and follow it up with a more proper tour later.stip wrote:no it isn't.EJ wrote:That's a copout.stip wrote:probably because of how many people would be excluded from it.
I think its more of a logistics issue and the band's desire to tour. I think if they were ever going to do this it would've been done many years ago. They just don't like touring anymore.
It is a bit disappointing though for a band with this many years under its belt. It'd be a nice way to reward fan club members. I mean, even the Foo Fighters did that acoustic tour years ago.

The 10c bitching would reach a magnitude yet unknown to man if they only did small venues.
It's a show that I would rather attend but it would be a train wreck emotionally .

not a bad idea... and make the club show 10C only... everyone enters for tickets... 1000 lucky people ONLY get the club show... rest get the arena/stadiumstupidmop wrote:People get excluded from bigger shows too, less people but still, you can't please everyone. separate issue, isn't it. He's not suggesting smaller venues in the sense of playing something that seats 8k instead of 15k (assuming I understood)digster wrote:I don't know, I don't think they'd have to do it permanently.

Well, I think it applies. Sure, it's exclusionary...but so is every touring decision to a degree. Using the South as an example again, they've been excluded from seeing PJ's tours for years, at least in a way that's not a strain on time and finances.stip wrote:separate issue, isn't it. I think I hate the organ on this song, at least at the end. I'm happy the song fades when it does.

I think boom is fantastic throughout. I do agree I'm glad it fades because boom freestyle is horrid.digster wrote:I think I hate the organ on this song, at least at the end. I'm happy the song fades when it does.

lost my old login... posting on new account...
does anyone kinda wish this song started with a lower voice tone that builds up to the more higher pitch emotion he sings with the whole song.
I dunno i just feel it could use a little more refining
