Maybe just all the producers need to be women?

Maybe I overstated. But on a side note, the implications for the criminal justice system are staggering.tragabigzanda wrote:I think "mostly" in "20" is a stretch, but I agree this is absolutely where the industry is headed.Bi_3 wrote:It'll mostly be digital 'actors' within 20 years regardless. I want to see your argument for that statement because your leap of logic from "digital actors" to "criminal justice system" astounds me.

If I have a digital copy of Jeremy Piven, I can make him do anything I want. Like appear to sexually assault an actress on security camera footage. Or rob a convenience store. Or pee on hookers in an Russian hotel. Anyone could manufacture evidence of guilt or innocence in manner never before dealt with... light years beyond edited phone calls or Photoshop'd pictures.bune wrote:I want to see your argument for that statement because your leap of logic from "digital actors" to "criminal justice system" astounds me.

That can already happen. I forget what podcast I was listening to - had to be NPR, now that I think about it - but there's Photoshop for video and audio now that can make anyone say or do anything. I imagine it's going to be used a lot in 2020, if not 2018.Bi_3 wrote:If I have a digital copy of Jeremy Piven, I can make him do anything I want. I remember reading about the SW prequels and how Lucas would be like, "That scene was great except I didn't like his face" so ILM would edit scenes together so that take 3 and take 2 would be interspersed inside of the same scene so it's been in the wings for a while.

Yeah, I was just pointing out that it could be used far beyond Hollywood. Anyone with sufficient audio/video of themselves available on the internet could be inserted into any situation and it would be impossible to decern the truth... as a society we are pretty unprepared for this. Too true. Also why I said we're probably going to see it in politics next year.

How is it our society thinks it’s deplorable for actors, studio people, etc... to sexually assault people, but it’s A-OK for our president to do it and laugh about it?

Because the minority of people who think it's ok have disproportional voting power.wease wrote:How is it our society thinks it’s deplorable for actors, studio people, etc... to sexually assault people, but it’s A-OK for our president to do it and laugh about it?

At least Hollywood males are bringing the left and right together. Both sides hate them
