You forgot the shitstain that is Future Days, that drags things down quite a bit.
Well, FD has been the worst reviewed of the tracks so far. I personally don't hate it, nor do I love it. It's just a song that I think is pretty and nothing more. There are quite a few PJ ballads post Vitalogy which fall into this category for me, so it's not a deal breaker at all. It hasn't put my expectations down. I expect it to rise or fall in the studio though.
The polls for FD so far: 26% of people either like it or love it, 32% think it's just ok and 42% dislike it. Far more polarising.
Took me until about my 5th listen (minutes ago) to get a true sense of Future Days. I probably put my vote into the Like It cat now..even though it inspires very little emotion on either side of the line. It isn't going to occupy any sort of space that a song like Indifference does for me, but it isn't going to be skipped constantly like some others. Has some nice parts that I hope are more evident on the album (if it is on there).
Lightning Bolt was a bit more of an immediate like, especially the band as a whole. With that in mind, I haven't listened to it more than twice so I don't ruin the buzz when the album comes (Doing the same with Mind Your Manners)
Really looking forward to how it is presented on the album. Is it top 10? Definitely not..but certainly do look forward to seeing how it grows on me.
Im still excited to hear the studio LB, no matter what song it supposed to be like from past albums, i think its gonna be good.
And im also good with FD, I've said it before but, though it might not be the most exciting thing to hear from them, it sounds like a good song, and i think it will be much better on the album then it was live

OK, don't like the number of views, then compare the number of "likes/dislikes" on each. There's always a way to get if not a definitive answer than at least a right direction. If in four years time MYM will "outperform" The Fixer in Youtube in number of views (bear in mind that it will have been 8 years for The Fixer by that time), than you should be quite safe in your assumption of which song the music audience finds better than the other. No?

The tragic flaw in your position earlier was your implication that if you put enough subjective truth together, you can reach some kind of objective truth, which isn't accurate.

You talking about maybe 10-15% of the views logging in a vote. Then you have to consider how many of those people are already pearl jam fans who are going to like it just because it's pearl jam. You can't possibly get any answer without being able to identify demographics of the people watching and or voting on it.
Say 500 people voted it down. Are they casual fans? Hard core fans? Someone who doesn't know Pearl Jam? Are they 500 stips or 500 chuds? We will make up a mythological person as one who has a well respected, educated and generally sound opinion on the quality of music. What if all 500 of these people that have heard this song voted it down.

Based on the like/dislike ratio, The Fixer is the better song
But still, all the things that make the comparison silly today will still be true 4 years from now, like the fact that youtube viewers are just a subset of the audience of these songs, that it doesn't even have to be the same subset for each song, and that a lot of elements external to the music itself are going to affect these numbers (press etc.). To think you can conclude anything other than the trivial "X has more likes/views than Y" is foolish.

Of course it's inaccurate, but I'm not intending to undertake a full fledged investigation. I think LB is vastly inferior to MYM, and the people will vote accordingly. On Youtube, on charts, on wherever - it doesn't matter. Time will show if I was wrong or right in my assumption.
