Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

As someone who comes from a mix of the 2 cultures that appear in this movie - I see some of this knee jerk reaction being a little - how shall I say it - uncomfortable. Not used to this? Need something a little more ..... "pure", more .... "rock" (what is that anyway)? I have no idea what to expect, but conceptually this is a huge huge chance. Seemingly, it would be exactly what RMers would typically want. You know .... something different or risky, experimental, not the usual. Personally, just the mere description of this project and the band's involvement sent my heart aflutter, only to see some of the above comments which seem a tad iffy. I wonder if it's something related to the "musical" or more ehem (Im just gonna fucking say it here) "ethnic" content. This is actually pointing to my own ethnicity, so I'm gonna take this one a little personally and be more sensitive to it (oversensitive, that's for you to decide). This is certainly a massive curveball from the straight while male workd. The reactions of the RM commenters so far are just a tad disconcerting. I do take note of Ed's Nusrat collaboration, which no one really talks about (good or bad), but which was a massive deal for me personally. I'm saying it, fuckit I don't give a shit.

Re: New Song: Obey the Law of the Heart
i'm looking forward to the new song (hell, ANY new original song) and think that the collaboration with other musicians could spark something in them.
also, why did they specifically call out that it was a song written and produced by Stone? not that i care, just kinda random

This is depressingly true.Kevin Davis wrote:Stone as sole author gives me some hope for this. I am going to choose the path of optimism and say that his underwhelming contributions to PJ on "Backspacer" and "Lightning Bolt" were because he was keeping the good stuff back for "Moonlander," which rules.

For my part my assumptions of negativity here are in no way ethnically motivated, my expectations are purely based on the reality of the most recent PJ tunes to come to light.Tuolumne wrote:As someone who comes from a mix of the 2 cultures that appear in this movie - I see some of this knee jerk reaction being a little - how shall I say it - uncomfortable. Yeah, I'm actually curious to what "iffy" posts Toulumne was referring to in this thread.
