Re: The Stone Temple Pilots Thread
A lot of No.4 is in “whatever” territory but Atlanta, Glide, Down, and Sour Girl are all great songs. No album with four great songs goes below the “good” category for me.LetMeSleep wrote:And then move No4 to whatever and done.PHATJ wrote:Flip flop Core and No.4tragabigzanda wrote:This looks right.durdencommatyler wrote:Great

Not a fan of S&V but I love Regeneration.tragabigzanda wrote:Also Sex & Violence and Regeneration are like two of the best songs to come out of the major 90s bands.

I think these showcase different types of vulnerabity. Shangri is honest, mature and laregly depressive in nature. No.4 is much more alienating and sardonic in nature. On songs like Down and Sour Girl Scott embraces a variety òf patheic and insidious characteristics.PHATJ wrote:This is the way I feel about Shangri La.Dev wrote:listening to that album and marvellong over how brave scott's lyrics are. so vulnerable and so depressing.

Man that writer was terrible, "Their third self titled album", what the fuck.EJ wrote:Details from the show last night with new singer Jeff Gutt:

New song is only marginally better than Linkin Temple Pilots, which wasn't a very high bar to clear.
