If the anti-Moore GOP goes gung-ho on a Luther-Strange-or-whoever write-in, it's almost certain to split the GOP vote and hand that Senate seat to Doug Jones and the Dems for the next few years. Or, they could just let it play out and not take any action, doing nothing more than saying that they don't like Moore. Then they can cross their fingers and hope that Moore wins on the strength of the -R after his name, refuse to seat him or expel him or whatever they can do to keep him out, and then just let Alabama hold another special election. Another special election would almost certainly elect an at-least-marginally-reasonable Republican. It would be ugly and embarrassing, but it also might be worth the pain to keep what should be a solid Republican seat in the Senate.

It would be hilariously sad, and also a real possibility, if Moore just gets renominated and reelected after he gets expelled.

What does the GOP plan on doing after a big tax cut to upper income earners while increasing the tax burden to the middle class and increasing the debt? From the LA Times and other sources:

In a videotaped interview with two Politico reporters Wednesday, Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) said the quiet parts out loud. Asked by interviewers Anna Palmer and Jake Sherman how to address the federal deficit, he replied: “We have to do two things. We have to generate economic growth which generates revenue, while reducing spending. That will mean instituting structural changes to Social Security and Medicare for the future.”

God damn it! My taxes went up when Tillis implemented his tax plan in North Carolina. Plus my spending power went down b/c they started taxing groceries, movie tickets, car repairs, and doctors visits. Fuck this dude. He kicked me in the balls when he was a state senator. Now he's warming up for a second shot.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

You act like that is not a guarantee.

It bums me out McCaskill is going to get wrecked in next year's senate race by some young up and comber who hasn't even been Missouri's Attorney General for a year.

It's hard to overstate how much potential the coming weeks in the Trump controversy have to disrupt this legislation's progress, which is part of why they are in such a hurry.

Flip that around: it's hard to overstate how much potential the coming weeks in the Trump controversy have to make people forget how much this bill sucks, if they can get it done before critical mass. Which is the other part of why they're in such a hurry.

You know, considering the way this legislation is going through, I'm starting to get the impression that the GOP's complaints about the way in which Obamacare was passed may have been slightly disingenuous.
