The TV, she talks to me
Breaking news and building walls
Selling me what I don't need
I never knew soap made you taller

So I'm riding (away)
Hiding (away)
So much talk, it makes no sense at all
My senses have gone AWOL

GUITAR SOLO

:bammer:

There's a downbeat, fuzzy, stoner rock vibe to this song that I really wish they'd return to. Really great guitar tones too. Wish they'd bring this one back into the set on a semi-regular basis.

Me like this one too. The opening 5 tracks of Riot Act work well, maybe even the sixth track.

Bring it on cos I'm no victim.

Love how this sounds like it was written in 5 minutes - like Glorified G it barely hangs together as a song, and generally struggles as a song live, but that makes it attractive. The solo burns.
While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

i don't get the hate for this song...
i would put this in the upper tier of songs on Riot Act... up there with can't keep, cropduster, get right, and all or none.

actually... i need to listen to Riot Act again, now that i'm thinking about it, it has some great songs on it.

Its a a great song that could , or should, have been amazing.
The studio version sounds very good, those guitars...that solo!! Mike is amazing here...im not sure about Eddie´s vocals though...

And i fucking love the last part, were he sings :

It doesn't hurt,when I bleed
But my memories they eat me
I've seen it all before,
Bring it on cause I'm no victim

Fuckin love those lines...
BONE FUCKIN´ TOMAHAWK.

My girlfriend's favorite song off the album......myself, I just can't get into it. It's ok, but not much more than that for me......of course, I'm probably the only person here who isn't fond of "Riot Act".

This was probably my favorite lyric on the record when it came out. It might still be.

Love this song and agree it needs to make a return to more set lists in the near future. I remember hearing it for the first time and thinking there was something wrong with my headphones because of the fuzz. Such a great guitar solo.

Great description. I think this may have been the song Jeff described as having a "Guided by Voices vibe" around the time of its release. Definitely one of those PJ tunes that sneaks up on you.

it occurred to me the other day that REM's Accelerate and Ghost are pretty similar songs. It made me like ghost even more

Absolutely.

I love this song, and definitely in my top 5 on RA (Can't Keep, Help Help, Ghost, Green Disease, All Or None).
