Could this be Cold Confession?
I hear the same notes for some reason.

Egads!
You could be onto something there. Or just wishing thinking.
It's probably wishful thinking.
But if so, you heard it here first:

These two new songs are incredible.
By the way...regarding the Loudness War :
Cold Confessions & Let It Ride >>>
----
DR Peak RMS Filename
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
DR12 -0.56 dB -15.03 dB 03 Track 03.m4a
DR11 over -11.83 dB 06 Track 06.m4a
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Number of files: 2
Official DR value: DR11
LOVE it.
This is how great songs sound when they don't get brickwalled.
You can really turn up the volume and don't get ear fatigue.
I can't remember the last time a new Pearl Jam song was released with such a good dynamic range.

Agreed man. This was what was missing from, and ruined the last 2 albums. I'm hoping the new album will be done the same way as these tracks.thegroovologist wrote:These two new songs are incredible.

They're chock full of dynamic rangey goodness because they're demos and haven't been properly mastered yet. Nearly all the demos we've heard to date are similar.

Re: Cold Confession and Let It Ride - Avocado Outtakes
I'm late to the party and haven't even tried to read through the other 75 pages of this thread. So, forgive me if I'm walking well worn ground here. But here are a couple of early impressions:
Cold Confession: Sounds like a hybrid of Hard to Imagine and Inside Job to me. One of those songs is a top tier, the other a bottom tier. This one fits nicely between them and has big hands for climbing. Ed's voice sounds shot, but in a great way. Most interestingly to me, Ed is "heee-heeee" ing all over the place toward the end. That's a post ITW thing, right? He doesn't hee-hee before that. Which leads me to believe this is newer that S/T.
Let it Ride: This sounds a whole lot like Of The Earth to me. I'm not a musician so it's hard for me to explain what I'm hearing. But musically, when this song starts, I hear a reworked OTE. Even the vocal melody has some similarities. These lyrics (the ones I can make out so far) are LEAGUES better than those of OTE. This is a nice song that builds well, I think. And I love the last third of the song.... LOVE IT.
There you go. Some thoughts. Sorry if you guys have been over all of this too many times already.

I think you are right.stip wrote:That hee hee stuff started on the 03 tour I think.
I have no reason to believe these aren't pre/ST songs. The vocals of CC are quite reminiscent of Inside Job and Let it Ride sounds very much like a RA performance. I didn't make an Of the Earth connection myself. Ill have to listen again.
There's the dog. You can't fake that stuff. Confess with your mouth.

Isn't there some hee heeing in 1/2 full at the end? That's what that reminds me of.Thejambi wrote:I think you are right.stip wrote:That hee hee stuff started on the 03 tour I think.

While a Western guitar motif lost on the swings drum bass fusion, get your own thoughts into the subconscious often forgotten. "Pendulum" is a sweeping soul from the ballast.

Despite your self stated lack of musician's knowledge, your use of words and descriptive writing is quite entertaining. I'd like to nominate you as an RM resident music reviewer.durdencommatyler wrote:I'm late to the party and haven't even tried to read through the other 75 pages of this thread.
