Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
I'm perpetually behind on shows, partly by design, partly by life demand...
Recently finished (or at least close to current)...
Shameless
Trailer Park Boys
Arrested Development
Current binges....
Always Sunny in Phil..
Just restarted watching Blacklist at season 4...
In the wings..
Revisiting Season 6 of Game of Thrones in prep to watch the 1st half of season 7...

I'm five episodes into Riverdale and I love every campy and over-stylized goddamn frame of it.

Re: What are you currently watching on TV?
More of a tv comment:
Maybe the biggest new hit of the season is The Good Doctor. I watched one episode and it is not good. It's your typical hospital show but the main character is an autistic surgeon. I checked it out because I liked Freddie Highmore in Bates Motel but he comes across as hacky in a role that is overly sentimental. It's like an SNL character or Ben Stiller's Simple Jack bit in Tropic Thunder.

Wow. Just reading the description for it makes it sound exactly like you say. Holy crap. And this is a hit?

Network TV is sooooo bad for the most part. I love watching football games on Sunday and laughing at the commercials for the network shows. Everything is either cops, doctors, or SWAT teams set in Chicago, New Orleans, or LA.bune wrote:Wow. Just reading the description for it makes it sound exactly like you say. Holy crap. Steve Albini wrote:Whenever there's active promotion on the part of somebody else, whenever I see somebody all dolled up for a fancy photograph and someone's handing out flyers or whenever there's active promotion for something like that, as an imposition on my day, I hate all those people and I want them to fail. I have a visceral reaction to advertising and promotion. There's just something about salesmanship that grates on me on a very base level and I react very negatively towards it. I want those people to suffer and I want their enterprises to fail.

This was really enjoyable. Love this short 8 episode hit and run format.
Bill Pullman is fantastic in this. Worth watching for his performance alone.

Show that I liked but always forget about: Happy Endings. It was probably my favorite sitcom when ABC canceled it.

The Carol Burnett retrospective was pretty good last night. I watched the reruns on TBS all the time as a kid; still funny.

Back to watching Criminal Minds semi regularly.
Man, this show has actually gotten better. Season 12 was fantastic.

I don't like it now that Shemar is gone. Not that I liked him all that much but some chemistry issues for sureStrat wrote:Back to watching Criminal Minds semi regularly.
