it would be great if someone could swipe a swab from his big mouth and run one of those genetic history tests on him... there’s probably some standard ashkenazy jew or north african in him that might burst his raciological bubble

Re: The 45th POTUS - Donald J. Trump
When taken as a whole, poverty and educational achievement rates are only slightly worse than black and Hispanic Americans, but this doesn't tell the whole story. As you said, reservations are a giant cluster fuck of racism and neglect. Native American land holds >$1.5T in resources, but the feds won't let them access it, since even though the territory belongs to the tribes it's still federally managed. The federal government is intentionally acting in a way they know makes the tribes suffer. Something to think about for those of you who think more government control in various economic areas is the answer to our social problems.Strat wrote: They're generally homeless, living in secluded slums, and have major drug and alcohol problems. Most reservations have their own police force and own issues to deal with.
My ex gilfriend grew up on a Res and it wasn't pretty.

Way to spin it into an anti big-government take.

Everyone knows its a Koch run conspiracy behind abysmal reservation schools. They're just trying to make the government look bad.cutuphalfdead wrote:Way to spin it into an anti big-government take.

Seriously, that was pretty pathetic. Both f0ur ch4n and project veritas are gonna have to accept that the world is wise to their crap now.McParadigm wrote:my plan is simple we just pay a woman to discredit assault victims.

This may have been discussed in here already, and I apologize if it is. What he is doing to media around the world is insane. Countries with laws that don't favor the free press are now able to say "see, even the U.S. president thinks the press is bad".
Ugh.

Yep. Big picture this will have massive consequences and strengthen regimes that I never imagined a sitting United States president would assist in such a public manner.
Just soul crushing. The office of the president of the united states is losing credibility at a astonishing rate.

Probably not. We are at the beginning of the harvest that the seeds of anti-intellectualism have grown into. Rick Perry is the Energy Secretary. Donald Trump is the president. Some guy who's never tried a case in his life gets a lifetime federal judgeship. Stupid people have taken over and that's not going to change anytime soon. The Argonaut wrote:Can we recover?

Certainly not in the near term. The Argonaut wrote:Can we recover?
Just looking at one tiny component (the loss of state department tribal knowledge and skilled practitioners), recovery will take decades. We are potentially working towards producing fewer PhDs and permitting less stringently regulated programs, which promises a reduction of expertise development....and we are doing it at a time when other foreign powers are ramping up their own commitment to higher education. We have no sanctions office. We have stunningly few diplomats. We are rushing in judges with no thought to their qualifications, and encouraging nations to write trade deals around us. Basic concepts like information, human rights and environmental degredation are entrenched political partisan ideals, and are only becoming more so. How do you recover when a quarter of your population believes the very need to recover is a conspiracy?
Puerto Rico is destroyed. Nuclear containment as a strategy is basically over. Healthcare was problematic already, but the tank tread approach to it will bathe us in tragedies, rural clinic closings, and expanding class divides (the first states will begin running out of CHiP money within the month, btw). Net neutrality may be a lost cause. Accountability certainly is.
Longer term, its likely to be a tumultuous century. Maybe catastrophic. Bad conditions for recovering, but good conditions for change.
