68% disagree? The only that's even debatable is the "7, R1, 6" part.
Also, the 3, 2, 1 run. And whether or not 5 is better than 4. So, yeah, really the whole thing is debatable.

I think a new hope and empire should always share joint first place.

I hope to god last Jedi comes in and shakes that up totally. It’s got a lot to do to even be as good as them never mind better. But I hope it can do it.

Im not sure any new star wars movie could wiggle its way into ANH or Empire. Those are so strongly cemented in my life and childhoo it would be difficult for it to happen. I probably can't see past that.

Just from a film making standpoint -- taking nostalgia and childhood out of it -- The Empire Strikes Back is absolutely one of the best films of its genre. I'd entertain an argument that it's one of the best films of any genre, really. Star Wars is good, not great; certainly not on Empire's level -- again, just in terms of film making, not nostalgia or cultural relevance or any of that.

The Last Jedi could easily surpass Star Wars. It'll have a hard time being better than Empire, though. It's not impossible. But it'll be tough. It's not easy to make one of the greatest films of a genre, let alone of all time.

“This character could come straight out of a Bob Dylan or Tom Waites song, or even a Dostoyevsky novel,” says Del Toro in the new issue of Empire. “He’s like something out of Dickens; there have been characters like him in all kinds of literature.”

“He’s like a knife: if you grab him by the blade, he’ll cut you. If you grab him by the handle, he can be very, very useful.”

So around 630pm EST on the 13th I’ll be posting a measured calm subjective and honest response to this film. All in a spoiler tag.

I will in my hole.
Only one part of that statement is true.

No she doesn’t. She just said she’s done with Rey after 9. But is open to coming back in decades to come.

We came to that conclusion months ago. Why else would Rian ask JJ to swap bb8 for R2 for the last scene in TFA. I think it’s a lock.

So you think that shot of Luke's hand on R2 was a reshoot? Either directed by or asked for by Rian?

Did you see the rolling stone interview? It looks like JJ and Rian collaborated. I’m betting the force vision and everything in it was something they both came up with together. It’s all tied forward as much as it is backwards.

No.
Right. That was discussed back during TFA -- look no further than your earlier reference about Rian asking for R2 instead of BB8.
I always thought the Force Vision stuff was all over the map. The internet told me it was all flash-back but I've never bought that.
