this poem doesn't rhyme! you've lost that lovin' feelin'
an improvement, but not a return to form.
elliseamos won't you believe?
The words laid out are merely a guide.
For when the Lightnng Bolt Strikes
the poem's creed it will provide.

elliseamos, the path will turn.
The stones may shift but the direction is true.
For when the Lightning Bolt Strikes
you'll find a color of a new hue.

elliseamos don't fear the sounds.
The frequencies hold the key.
For when the Lightning Bolt Strikes
elliseamos won't you believe?

Lightning Bolt screams
a renaissance of the form
glory from the void.

After a few more listens, I'm getting scared that this may be the album closer. And that makes me really nervous for this record.

I'd rather listen to a 10 hour loop of Stupid Mop than have FD on a Pearl Jam album

I downloaded this and put it on my MP3 player. It's growing on me. I think it's a decent song with some really interesting parts and lyrics. In context with the album's themes, it deserves its place, although I'm still fearing Brendan's fixin' on it. The keyboard parts still just sound like an egotistical intrusion, especially over the top of Boom's (appropriate) organ playing.

I agree 100%. It also sounds unusually high in the mix but this could just be the quality of the recording. Egoistical is a good way to put it. I hope it's mixed in a way that makes it sound distant on the studio version in which case it may even work well.
Otherwise from what i can tell the arrangement is better than on similar songs they did recently.

Somebody says 'Too loud' before the song starts. I think it's to O'Brien and I think you can see him then turn the keyboard down on the video. I think it ends up still being too loud, but they don't start the song again. I guess we can hope...

Yup. I also suspect this one has strings.

I think it's Eddie yelling at the sound guys about his monitors. You can see him pointing at them in the video.

Nevermind, I just watched it again, he's pointing to his left, where the keyboards are.
