It's one of my absolute favorite moments/sections/pieces/etc in the entire PJ catalog.
And then when that dynamite Jack Irons fill comes in, sending the song tumbling into that final chorus....those are magical sounds, buddy.

Look, Stip, all other RM nonsense or whatever else aside.... that lyric and that delivery really doesn't move you? Does NOTHING for you?

Not particularly, but I'm also pretty unmoved by the song so the setup isn't there. I'll give it a listen tomorrow

a great song for a warm summer night outside, where no one can see you whacking off

That's not a great lyric in and of itself, but it's greatly enhanced by the structure of the lyrics and the repetitive format. But for the most part I don't think the abstract poetry in lowlight is very good, nor do I particularly like eddie's delivery in it

Okay, I listened to lowlight this morning. The music is nice, and there are some lovely moments. I'd like the 'two birds' lyric more in another song. But overall I find a disconnect between the lyrics and the music, and I don't particularly like Eddie's performance. I should listen to benyaroya or some other live version where those studio effects aren't in the mix.

the piano bit behind the vocal breaks in the 'voice rolls by...' verse is sublime.
ah, copperplate, a font for the truly modern man.
