Blow it up every few years. Stop being set in their ways. They've become stagnant.

Re: What Can PJ Do to Bring You Back?
At first they were young and full of energy. Ten (wanting to make it), Vs (making songs on their first big tour), Vitalogy (all those creative juices flowing). And whatever you call the next period from No Code to Riot Act, it worked. They seemed to gel as a unit and a band.
Some of it can be seen as taste, as there are people out there that prefer the newer records. But I feel like they lost something vital. I would love it if they made more records, and took chances, tried different things. If they worked together as a band to make songs. However, I understand they are all getting older, and with families and other commitments, it's probably difficult.

Stop aiming at markets or radio. Just record and release records.
I don't think they write less songs than in 1996-2002, but they sure record and release less.
Have 10 songs ready every 2 years. Experiment with them, change producers, ways of recording.
Record a garage album, an acoustic one, and another glossy return to form album.
Be more like Neil, be less like Bruce or Bono.....

I'd like them to be more active, too, but if you think about it, they've never gone on hiatus. They haven't put out an album in over 4 years, but they've done several tours, released a pretty cool film, got inducted into the rrhof, reunited temple just in time, and put out several side projects. I think as men, they'll look back and be happy they did all of the things they wanted to rather than the things everyone else wanted them to.

My only complaint is the little music they release. They could do singles, eps...albums. But they dont.

I want humiliating authenticity.
It struck me tonight that ed just being 100% ed...no "is this what you what me to be," no songwriter thinking, no clever lines or whatevs...is what I like most. It's not what I want from almost anyone other. But.

my guess is from that ellipsis laden gobbledygook is you'd be fine with Ed's process via Into The Wild.
