I still dont care for Hux and i think he was horribly cast. I was hoping Ren would kill him so we dont have to deal with him anymore.
Spoiler: show
Strange. I love the casting of Hux. One of the highlights of the sequels.

I hated the beginning..the scene with Poe and Hux?? wtf? he is buying time with a joke? it felt like Spaceballs. Pretty much a lot of the humor made here seemed like a parody of a SW film. The scene with Luke and the monster´s milk...does Rian hate SW so much he needs to make fun of a beloved character that way? i hated that. I hated the whole Luke and Rey thing, ¨i wont help you¨ ¨yes, ill train you¨ ¨ nope go away¨...Poe is a great military leader? All his actions here are failures....Finn is taken into a non sense adventure we didnt needed. Snoke is dead? So why bother with his origins...Rey´s parents? yeah, we dont need to know that. Lazy, lazy.
Spoiler: show
i thought the opening bit was funny, but Hux as a character can't afford to be the butt of that joke. The monster milk scene was good - it's really just luke doing a bunch of grinding monastic chores to express disinterest to Rey ('this is my life - glamorous, isn't it. You don't want this so fuck off.' Their whole dynamic worked really well for me. Luke was conflicted about taking on another student, so when he first agreed to train her his is really doing so to grind an axe. It's not unitl later that he comes around.

Poe was NOT a great military leader. That is the whole point of his story. He's an inspiring guy, and a great pilot, but he doesn't understand that the importance of an insurgency isn't to win. it is to survive. That's the message behind his final line the film (I think his final line). The 'we are the spark' bit. The point is to be the spark. The flame comes later

They didn't bother with Snoke's origins, right? And we did need to know Rey's origins - not to put internet rumors to bed (if that was the case we would have learned Snoke's origin, which we do not need to know, from a narrative perspective). But the fact that Rey came from nowhere is central to the major thematic through line of the movie.
Spoiler: show
Well its a matter of taste i guess but i felt the beginning was a slap in the face. It was stupid because it didnt make sense and at the same time felt like a parody. The same with that monster´s mik scene. The lack of Snoke origins is unexpected and again, i feel its lazy. The big bad guy who bulit this new empire..we dont know who he is or were he came from...about rey´s parents..im not sure they wont say anything in the next chapter though...but a lot of things felt weird...Maz scene? awful. Why did Maz had Luke´s lightsaber? i feel those things will get unanswered and its sooo lazy...
Spoiler: show
Completely agree. Even if I didn’t mind the Luke milk scene.

This movie subverted several of the plot points/story beats of previous entries have followed. That alone makes it feel different. Different can lead to mixed reactions and I think you're seeing that play out in this thread. It's not a perfect film, that may be impossible to make with huge blockbusters these days given how many masters they must serve.
It's amazing Johnson got away with making this film a Star Wars film, especially after the copycat Force Awakens. No one expected this. And they're giving him a whole trilogy to boot! I give credit to Kennedy and Disney for going with this vision. Ballsy.

I think Phasma is cool. Only shame is that it is underuse of possibly the best actress in the movie.

I would say she has more. I dont care about Fett really but at least he got Solo. Phasma does nothing.

Also.

I love the montage with the whole telepatic comunication between rey and kylo. I wish we get more of that and why it happens

It happens
Spoiler: show
because Snoke made it happen and wanted to manipulate both of them Snoke explains all of this in the throne room. He knew Kylo was weak and struggled with his feelings and that Rey was young and naive enough. it would draw them together and ultimately skywalker. This was pretty clear and straightforward.

yeah, a character appearing in a star wars movie (or any fantasy/sci fi movie) because of good character design isn't exactly anything new or unique to star wars. Again, she's a henchman character. She was a problem in TFA when nothing happened, but she works here perfectly well. She looks great, is intimidating, has a good fight with the hero, and gets killed (OR DOES SHE?!). That is exactly what her purpose is. Kylo is your antagonist. Every other character is really there to provide flavor.

Just because it's convenient, doesn't make it a good idea. It should have been more in line with previous Star Wars movies in this.
