I agree with Tom here. There are a lot of shows that do not have a decent recording at all. This is a popular show for everyone because it was so readily available. Who knows what gems they are sitting on. The few songs that popped up on the PJ20 DVD lead me to believe that 95 Asia tour would have been a better choice.CopperTom wrote:No, that's not remotely what I said. No one complained about the quality of these sources from 7-11-1995 through 7-9-2017. No one. Saying they're bad on 7-10-2017 after 22 years is flat out absurd. Of course an official release is an upgrade, but that doesn't mean the existing sources are bad.Wendy Carlos's Twin wrote:Are you seriously arguing that the existence of a tinny, mono radio broadcast and an audience recording from the back of an arena is "good enough" to exclude a classic show from being a vault release?CopperTom wrote:Sure, but you can acknowledge neither source is bad and we could move on...
Los Angeles '98 was available in much better quality than this, and nobody complained about that show...
Personally, I would want complete recordings of lesser-loved and circulated concerts. This is probably the second most common pre official bootleg US show behind only Atlanta 94. I also feel there are few complete recordings.
I am excited about this as this is one of my early favorites.

Re: Vault Release #7 - Soldier Field '95
I think that probably sums up the debate about the vault - the release of shows that are already available in reasonable quality is arguably not what the vault should be about? Is it just about sound quality upgrades or about making available shows that have either not previously circulated or have only done so in miserable audience recordings.
EDIT: Or also about releasing shows from a previous 'era' of the band.

If I remember correctly, the other vaults shipped anywhere between early November and New Year's. So they're not late or anything yet.Birds in Hell wrote:This thing coming out any time soon or what.

Got a shipping notification for this today. Digital files should be up soon, as well as a CD option, I imagine.

Before you leave just put a sign on your porch that says "Attention thieves -- the package on the doorstep is a Pearl Jam vinyl and is probably defective." Might buy you a few days at least.

Gmail adds a "Track Package" button to the subject line for this e-mail in my inbox. That's a damn nice feature.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?
