At some point I'll go back and read other people's thoughts on this and maybe add to the discussion, but for now I'll just say that there were bits I liked and bits the I REALLY hated

Never thought about that but every decision poe makes throughout the film goes totally wrong. Every single one. I Think it’s to undo what we expect of oh he’s obviously the new hero and hero’s always make the right choices and win every time.
I think it was a good decision to show him as just having a bad fuckin day where everything he touches turns to shit.

That generous. Poe essentially wipes out the Rebellion himself in this movie.dimejinky99 wrote:B wrote:The thing I'm struggling with the most ...

It’s true. Now that I think of it, I think all the good choices in the movie are made by women or a droid.B wrote:That generous. Poe essentially wipes out the Rebellion himself in this movie.dimejinky99 wrote:B wrote:The thing I'm struggling with the most ...

I enjoyed this film, but it is going to absolutely crumble under scrutiny.

Re: Star Wars: Episode VIII: The Last Jedi (2017)
i disagree 100%. its the extra scruitny and consideration that is going to favorably resolve a lit of the initial negative gut reactions. This is very nuanced and subtle storytelling (for star wars) that plays against the simple morality and bright lines we normally expect in these movies. it will take time to work itself out.B wrote:I enjoyed this film, but it is going to absolutely crumble under scrutiny.
