I liked the raw power of that "throne room" fight between Rey/Ben and the guards just as much.

It was one of the best cirque du soleil moments in all of Star Wars.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I can't imagine how anyone could think there are action sequences in TFA or TLJ that even approach the climax of TPM. I mean, "Duel of the Fates"? Come on.
Everything's perfectly all right now. We're fine. We're all fine here, now, thank you. How are you?

I didn’t say it did. Just commenting on stip’s assertions that its best moments are merely “okay” and still below these new shitshows.Kaius wrote:One scene does not a good movie make.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I can't imagine how anyone could think there are action sequences in TFA or TLJ that even approach the climax of TPM. Just got back from watching this for the first time. Totally not what I expected, of course, but I loved it, can't wait to see it again.

it's a great score but there is no emotional tension and just a bunch of overly choreographed flippingKaius wrote:One scene does not a good movie make.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I can't imagine how anyone could think there are action sequences in TFA or TLJ that even approach the climax of TPM. I'd say it has tons of emotional tension. A lot of more than...well, you know the rest.stip wrote:it's a great score but there is no emotional tension and just a bunch of overly choreographed flippingKaius wrote:One scene does not a good movie make.LoathedVermin72 wrote:I can't imagine how anyone could think there are action sequences in TFA or TLJ that even approach the climax of TPM. Screenrant is one small step above clickbait, but the Cinemascore/online poll disparity is interesting. I wonder if there is a story here. If the movie doesn't have the legs you'd exepct there probably isn't any smoke. If it does...

there may not be many questions - which is just fine. The OT never had any questions that carried over from movie to movie. . Nothing wrong with just telling a good story with worthwhile characters

So I assume Rey will construct a lightsaber in 9? I really hope we get more lightsaber action.

the two lightsaber fights in the new trilogy have been aces. I assume we'll get a final showdown with Rey and Ren

How will Luke deal with knowing his father is Darth Vader?
Will they find Han Solo?

those are plot points. They aren't 'mysteries'. It's a continuation of a narrative, but it isn't a 'who are Rey's parents' style questionblueviper wrote:What will the rebels do now?Strat wrote:Empire left no questions.

How will Luke deal with knowing his father is Darth Vader?
Will they find Han Solo?
What will the resistance do now?
How will Rey deal with the knowledge of her parents, and is it even true?
Will Rey become an ass kicking Jedi without a master?
Will we ever find out who Snoke was?
Will DJ return?
