What do you mean by "the" red kyber crystal?

Well apparently the story is that’s part of Vader’s kyber. Kylo might have the rest and it’s broken and it’s why his blade is all fucked up.

We’re gonna get more about it in the next wave of books it seems. MSW to their credit reported on this way way back. Kinda glad the crystals don’t get brought into TLJ at all.

But what happened to Luke’s green saber? How come Ben has his own saber (in the hut when Luke is creeping on him) all that were gonna get in the books I reckon

Totally blanking, so forgive me, but wasn't Lukes Green saber in play during the flashbacks and the projection battle scene? I honestly don't remember.

Nope. Luke has The Hero's Blade (or whatever they've dubbed it now; Anakin's old saber) in the final battle with Kylo.

Ah. So it's something people are speculating about. Got it. Be cool if it's true.

I wonder why Luke hasn't bled it white yet. If that's really Vader's crystal.

We don’t see his own green blade in the film in real time either

So I’m thinking white is off the table since he’s closed himself off from the force and is no longer a Jedi.

It’s probably in his x wing underwater.

My wish would have been that Luke lifts his X wing out of the Water, gets to Crait, lands it, jumps into action and kills every body.

Alas...

I really wanted Luke out of Crait all together. Had I written the film, Leia would have used the Force to save everyone and fend off Kylo at Crait. Luke would still be Ahch-To.

I think Luke landing with the X-wing and actually meeting his sister would have been better. I think it's obvious that he couldn't have killed everyone, but going on a little rampage would have been nice. Perhaps dying in the end because of the betrayal by someone from the resistance. That would really have made people hate that person.

Rian's solution was elegant. I've seen people describe it as the ending they didn't know they wanted. I like that. I'm not sure how I wanted Luke's story to end but I never would have imagined what we got. It was lovely.

If you look at the build up in TFA, and the twist in TLJ, it just doesn't make sense. They could have made her nobody to begin with, and no one would have cared in a negative way, only positive. Obi-Wan was a nobody, Luke was a nobody in the first movie.

the mystery was not ‘who are Rey’s parents’. the parents were important as absentee figures in her life, not a ticket to being somebody. The fan speculation was added onto the text of the film.

I’m not sure you will like what I have to say. But I did think it was a beautifully made movie, and as a person who has enjoyed every Star Wars movie, I had a good time tonight as well. Too bad about the writing though.
There were so many parts where I was thinking, "That's the line you went with?" or even "That's the take you went with? There wasn't one with more, I dunno, energy?"

I wish they wouldn't have led the audience with the Snoke death. Just have him narrating Kylo's thoughts and then do the shocked blue face. Cutting to the saber and watching his hand it was like, duh. It was kind of shocking how rookie that scene felt.

I don't know that they broke the "everyone is related" at all. It's possible that Kylo was just saying that and confirming her fears more than anything. I'm not 100% either way on it so I'm ok if it's still open for the next movie.

And why does anyone need training for the Force? If you're one with it, you shouldn't need training because it just flows through you.
Interesting thread about the Force.

Star Wars is a story about growth. A bout figuring out your place in the galaxy and stepping into roles that you are uncomfortable with and rising to the challenge. This episode did a fantastic job at putting them all through the struggles necessary to become great leaders. Rian Jonson was not doing anything to make Poe seem like a great military leader and nothing in the story has alluded to such a thing. he is ag reat pilot and he is learning to be a militar leader.

Also, the opening was fantastic. He was a smart ass in TFA and that carried into TLJ. Nothing Space Balls about that. The only thing Space Balls about the movie was Lei flying through space and one shot where a fighter plane of sorts was landing and it looked like a giant Iron.

im tired of needing a backstory on every character. Its unnecessary. I love that Rey comes from nowhere. That is a much more powerful message and if she would have been of related bloodline to any character we already know...we all would have groaned about that and how tired and out of ideas star wars is. Rian Johnson gave a big fuck you to the internet rumor mill and I love it. I hope that story sticks.
Uh...that was a giant iron. They were stealing uniforms and the bots were ironing them. I laughed, but it was also a little too ridiculous. Too...Spaceballs.

Lots more pages to go through...30-ish? Whew.

Rey holding the two halves of Luke/Anakin/Rey's lightsaber as she was talking to Leia at the end. I'm very glad it's not gone.
I was thinking during that battle of the great stress that you have to put a crystal through to make it red and I wondered if maybe the stress put on the crystal there would turn it colors. I don't know what it looked like before but it was white, I wonder if showing it was significant for that reason? Or just a "hey, I took the broken saber while kylo was knocked out".
