A wall of flames could have been cool but why are you so fixated on that? Where did that even come from?

I'm predicting Rey turns the broken lightsaber into a white Darth Maul style saber. She's pretty good with her staff.

Because they seemed to set it up when the curtain caught fire. But they never capitalized.

Ah. Gotcha. I thought you wanted the red walls to just be flames all the time. Which also could have been cool. But I'm with you now.

If you look at the build up in TFA, and the twist in TLJ, it just doesn't make sense. They could have made her nobody to begin with, and no one would have cared in a negative way, only positive. Obi-Wan was a nobody, Luke was a nobody in the first movie.
I mean I'm good with her being a somebody or a nobody either way

This just dawned on me. A couple of weeks ago one of my kids got a Snoke action figure. Man these things are fucking flimsy, they'll never last 40 years like the original ones. Within a day he'd snapped it in half at the waist.

The little fucker was trying to show me a spoiler.

There were a few things in the script that took me out of the SW universe for a moment. It felt strange these were in there. I know these people speak English, but still.
  • Luke calling light sabers 'laser swords'.
  • Poe saying 'What the hell?' (floor panel falls off salt glider).
  • "Godspeed". Seriously, what the fuck? Did some moron forget they should be saying "May the force be with you"? This was probably the worst stupidity. I mean fuck.
  • There's an insult thrown at some point, but I can't remember exactly what it was. I think it was "bastard" or a similar. Now, I'm not 100% certain but I htink most insults in the previous movies have been made up for that universe - like "nerf herder", "bantha poodoo" etc.
I think there were more, I'll add them if I remember them (or after I see this again on Friday).

Stop. Rian is a huge fan. Forcing this narrative is absurd.

I think Rian loves Star Wars, but hated what JJ did with TFA. Rian is like, "you idiot, these are NEW Start Wars movies. Not remakes!".
