maybe they explain everything in the crawl. A busy crawl.
¨SNOKE is back because he was powerful and LEIA is dead, heart attack. Also Maz bought the lightsaber from Phasma, who is dead too.¨

The speculation video I watched talked about whether or not Snoke is even in the room, too. There's obviously so much Force projection in the film. Snoke's hologram throws Hux to the ground and threw him around like a doll. He's powerful enough in the Force to affect people from afar. And he creates that Force bridge between Kylo and Rey. Dude's got major Force chops. Maybe he was never in that thrown room at all.

My thought is that they used mini Death Star lasers for those canons hence the fact you could see the destruction from orbit.stip wrote:that mushroom cloud coming off of scarif was pretty excellent. The planet destruction was nice, but still a bit disaster movie 101.
EDIT: got my locations messed up. I meant the base at the beginning of TLJ.

Rian was on a recent episode of The Director's Cut podcast. He reiterates again how he wrote the film while TFA was filming. He watched some dailies to help inform how to write the characters based on what the actors were doing. But he'd written all of it before TFA was released and all the fan theory fervor. He also reiterates that Rey is no one.

But, when Luke was stabbed with a saber, it went right through his projection, seemingly unharming him in the eyes of kylo. Snoke straight up got sliced in half and his body was just laying there for some time afterdurdencommatyler wrote:The speculation video I watched talked about whether or not Snoke is even in the room, too. Thats a good point but yeah, he seemed to be there. I mean he was cut in half and then didnt re appeared again in some form. If he was alive i would expect him to appear and kill Kylo.durdencommatyler wrote:The speculation video I watched talked about whether or not Snoke is even in the room, too. There's a running gag on one of the podcasts that I listen to that she's alive. And I think it would be hilarious if they did that. If they kept leaving you thinking she was dead at the end of every movie but she kept making it out inexplicably. That would be hilarious.Anders wrote:I read someplace earlier in the thread that Phasma is alive.

Yeah, he's going to meet up with Darth Maul and get himself a new pair of legs.durdencommatyler wrote:I watched a YouTube theory video yesterday about that very thing and I actually kinda liked the idea. Snoke looks so old and broken. How old is he? Does he have the power to change bodies? Or to slowly, over time, heal himself, like a Voldemort type? I think it could be fun to bring him back, too.

It's not my theory so I don't know. But I imagine they could create a scenario where Snoke was powerful enough to show Kylo Ren what Snoke wanted him to see (and as an extension, us the audience). Luke wanted Kylo to know he was fighting a projection. Maybe Snoke didn't, so he kep up the ruse for longer. I don't know.E.H. I'm not saying I buy the theory but I do think it's interesting speculation. If we had a "make your predictions for Ep 9" thread, I would predict that Snoke is indeed gone.
But speculation is fun.

Oh fucking awesome would it be if he is alive and he haunts Kylo in 9. You've got Snoke haunting him, inside his head, threatening to kill him; basically hunting him and mentally toying with/terrorizing him on one hand. And on the other you've got Force Ghost Luke haunting him and trying to pull him to the light.VinylGuy wrote:Thats a good point but yeah, he seemed to be there. I would prefer Snoke haunting him and Rey trying to still get him into the light. And Luke being the force ghost of Rey.durdencommatyler wrote:Oh fucking awesome would it be if he is alive and he haunts Kylo in 9.
